Went straight to Lancing at 12ish. rigged a 4.0m on RRD wave, chunky shorebreak but pushed straight out and big air off first head high face, then more speed and massive air off wave out the back. Really steep face and the wind just got under the board and got me the air time Ive been waiting months and months for. Solid boost, held on and.........snap, board broke clean in two between the strap and mast. Just a bit of glass hanging on the top, but that soon went too.

Had a long body drag back in, with feet on one bit and mast on the other! Dumped the broken kit on the beach, hopped in the car and straight down to Surfladle to buy something else!! Back out sailing on 83l RRD in 20 minutes!! I was just chuffed to have saved the two bits and not got my rig trashed in the shore break. It was a great board, and it went out the way a board should. I had just been starting to think it was gaining weight, the usual first sign of dissatisfaction. I can now shop for at least one board as a permanent replacement.

Lancing conditions were very good, not EPIC , but there were good ramps and fairly reliable down the line riding on offer. Wind was hitting the 40mph zone and 4m was fully powered up in the end. Like Shoreham, strong current as the tide dropped away. Towards low tide it was time to hand over to the kites, waves were all but gone and no longer breaking consistently.
